Amsterdam!
I have been spending the last couple of days here at CWI, Amsterdam. As the past few months, I have been exposed to some really state-of-the-art technologies by its leaders. This time I am learning knowledge management techniques and how the Semantic Web is using these ideas to create some really useful tools: www.geonames.org, www.dbpedia.org. We need to take our event systems in the semantic web directions. The ability of being able to recieve machine processable information on runtime is something that is not put to full use yet.
Went out a couple of times too, first to Oosterpark, then the ships meusuem. The thing most striking about the Netherlands is the transport system. They have amazing infrastructure for people dependent on bicycles to get them around. Being a relatively small place, bicycles are a good option to travel around here. Yesterday we went to the Gare de l'est. This was my first time with french cuisine. And I must say, it really met my expectations. You could feel so many different tastes in single bite of food. The dessert later was mind blowing! Lime Pie and Lemon ice cream. Wonderful!
